WTS pretty much runs out of the box. However, there are some features which require additional software or configuration. Here's a quick checklist which may help to solve the most common issues with a new install or a new workstation.
- Internet Access - HTTP and HTTPS must be allowed.
- Browser - Firefox or Internet Explorer 7 or above. (Firefox is preferred for security and stability reasons.)
- Java - Various features of WTS require Java in order to function. (e.g. Label Printing and Signature Capture.) Ensure the latest version of Java is installed by visiting www.java.com
- Signature Capture Driver - See the Supported Device Drivers page for installation information.
- Zebra Label Printer - Windows XP and Windows Vista use different drivers and have different configuration requirements. See the Supported Device Drivers page for more information.
- Label Format - The default package label format uses a 2" x 2" template. Templates can be modified to support any size label. The printer driver must be configured otherwise a blank label will be produced or nothing at all.
- Handheld Device Cradle - In order for the Handheld devices to be able to charge or see the internet, the Cradles must be configured correctly. They require power and a network connection with access to the internet.
- Zebra Printer - The Zebra printer has specific power requirements and must be connected using it's own power supply. Other power supplies will not work. The Zebra printer can be connected to a workstation via a USB or parallel port. Please ensure that a high quality USB lead is used if the one supplied becomes lost or damaged.
- Handheld Device - The Motorola series of Mobile Computers MC55 & MC65 usually arrive pre-installed. A large and fast SD card will have been installed. The WTS Mobile software will have been installed to the SD card. The Motorola Data Wedge program will have been installed and configured.
